Marc Gosselin
President, Chief Executive Officer & Medical Director
Visionary, determined, early adopter, a bit of a geek, traveler and epicurean who frequently likes to get out of his "comfort zone".
SIRIUSMEDx represents for him the sum of all his passions: medicine and science, sharing knowledge, being part of a community of passionate and committed people, and adventure in all its forms.

Philippe-Olivier Belcourt
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
A bit voluble, articulate, dynamic, qualified as a human Swiss Army knife by his colleagues and friends.
Fiery by nature, curious and alert, he grabs the ball on the rebound and gets involved to use his experience and make a difference whenever he can.
A skilled geek, he is busy implementing systems and protocols to tighten practices and optimize the next phases of SIRIUSMEDx development. Philippe-Olivier acts as the company's second in command and COO. His role is to ensure the coordination of the company's overall operations and the smooth running of the business. As coordinator for Dokever, SIRIUSMEDx's sister company, P-O supervises, deploys and mobilizes the troops for large-scale events (Ironman, World Triathlon, Festival...).
P-O has a well-developed sense of community, a value rooted in its DNA and generously applied.

Yannick Sisla
Director of Business Development
Yannick is the standard bearer of the company that he knows in all its corners having climbed the ladder over the past 15 years; from instructor to project coordinator to director of operations and medical services and now responsible for business development.
With an exemplary rigor, meticulous in the smallest details, he is a recognized expert in the outdoor industry and safety in remote areas. His vision is deep, his analysis is critical and inevitably brings out the most effective solutions.
Yannick is the guy we want to have to prepare and accompany us in the most audacious expeditions or projects! He foresees absolutely every scenario.

Julie Kennedy
Director of Training
Calm, attentive, curious and attentive to others, Julie stands out by her rigor and her concern for a job well done.
At first glance, she may seem shy, but once the contact is established, it is her laughing side and her contagious good mood that take over. Through her piercing eyes, one can see a quiet strength, motivated to continue on the solid foundations established since the beginning of Sirius by leading her team towards the future and modernity.
A true outdoorswoman, at ease on a snowmobile as well as in a raft, a canoe or simply in hiking boots with a backpack, she knows the outdoors from every angle as well as its players. She is the perfect person to lead the training department and bring the entire SIRIUSMEDx family together around the campfire.
Like all of us, she has the SIRIUS mission tattooed on her heart. Her role is to rally the instructor community as well as our nationally dispersed clientele and ensure that every SIRIUS training experience is of the highest standard.

Charlie Ruel
Human Resources Manager
The youngest member of our group, Charlie shines in our offices with her cheerful demeanor and empathy. Motivated and dynamic, she never says no to a skiing outing!

Charlie has a keen ear, making her perfectly suited for her role.

Drawing from his extensive experience as an on-site nurse in mining areas with SIRIUSMEDx for several years, he understands the challenges faced by healthcare professionals in remote regions, making him an excellent advisor in the field.
Proactive and innovative, Justin prioritizes the health of his team members, regularly organizing walking meetings or lunchtime strolls to keep us fit!

Operations Manager
Passionate, with a great capacity for analysis and problem solving, not to mention his extensive general knowledge, C-F is an undisputed asset to the team. His ability to dissect the smallest problem to find the many possible solutions while putting into action the best solution in record time, he allows the company to progress and improve.
From a black belt in karate to an avid outdoorsman and fisherman, he brings a human touch, a relaxed atmosphere and a team spirit that fits perfectly with SIRIUSMEDx values.

An adventurer at heart and a master of sarcastic humor, Sylvain is our warehouse specialist. A bit of a perfectionist, he leaves nothing to chance and always passionately invests himself in his role.
But Sylvain is above all a lover of nature, and he takes pleasure in sharing his passion when he guides on weekends.
Sylvain is a trustworthy person in any circumstance. He appreciates the simple things in life like group outings, good barbecues, and the canine companions of SIRIUSMEDx. He will always have a compliment (or a big hug) for the team's dogs.

Mathieu Barbeau
Pedagogical Manager
Mathieu encountered SIRIUSMEDx long before joining the team, during his wilderness first aid training as part of his initial education. It was then that he had a revelation about his vocation: to rescue.
He then began his journey as a paramedic, a path he continued concurrently with his collaboration with SIRIUSMEDx.
With a cheerful and friendly temperament, Mathieu is a preferred contact for our instructors. His professional background as a paramedic is an undeniable asset in developing course content and supporting the training of our instructors.
However, Mathieu has other skills as well, such as his ability to organize medical support during sporting events in the region, which makes him a perfect representation of our motto: Plan. Train. Care.
Passionate about brewing and naturally adventurous, Mathieu will guide us to the best brew during our team-building activities.

Over 30 years of history
FOUNDING OF SIRIUS WILDERNESS MEDICINE
Founded by Bob Washer in the early 1990s, Sirius Wilderness Medicine quickly filled a gap in first aid training for outdoor enthusiasts and workers in remote areas. Its comprehensive, experiential learning approach sets it apart from other programs. Sirius was present at the first World Congress on Remote Medicine in 1991.
INDUSTRY RECOGNITION OF SIRIUS TRAINING
Already in the late 90's, Sirius participated in the birth of the Quebec Ecotourism Association and in the development of safety standards for the emerging adventure tourism industry. Throughout the 2000's, SIRIUS has trained the majority of outdoor professionals in Quebec through its partnerships with various educational institutions offering outdoor programs across Canada.
START OF MEDICAL SERVICES AT SIRIUS
Already in 2005, Sirius has made its mark in the natural resources industry by joining PDAC (Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada) and offering training programs to explorers, geologists and other workers in remote areas. It was a natural progression to offer first aid and medical services on remote industrial sites. Since then, Sirius has worked with most mining companies on exploration projects in the most remote areas of Canada. Sirius has also been involved in numerous decontamination projects on the former DEW line radar stations.
NEW Administration !
With the growth of it’s medical service offering, Dr. Marc Gosselin joined Sirius in 2013. A few years later Bob Washer passed the torch to him to lead SIRIUS and continue its expansion. It was in December 2017 that SIRIUS changed its administration. It is in partnership with Bruno Basset, president of Dokever and allied by a common passion that the new team begins the transition of Sirius.
SIRIUS WILDERNESS MEDICINE BECOMES SIRIUSMEDX
Sirius continues to evolve and change its image based on the solid foundations of the last thirty years. Our new brand image reflects our new multidisciplinary reality. In addition to our flagship programs for in wilderness first aid, we are adding more specialized services in medical support, medical training, telemedicine and risk management in remote and isolated environments. Our new name, SIRIUSMEDx, captures all of these facets.

This maturity leads us to clarify our mission and vision for the future of SIRIUSMEDx, which is to revolutionize the delivery of medical care and training programs to safeguard the health of workers, residents and explorers in the most remote regions of the world. Whether it's improving the quality of medical care through greater use of telemedicine, collaborating with First Nations to create customized training programs, or developing first aid and advanced medical care training programs specific to remote environments, every action and decision we take is directed toward achieving this mission.
