A - Awareness Level
This training is an awareness program on workplace safety on ice. The goal is to educate workers about site preparation before intervention.
Content :
• Explain the elements that lead to an ice or cold water rescue.
• Gather information about the incident.
• Determine the human and material resources necessary for the rescue.
• Implement safety measures.
• Provide support to operational rescuers and technicians.
B - Operational Level
Rescue a victim from the shore:
• Analyze the incident scene.
• Prepare the intervention site and gather the necessary equipment for the operation.
• Provide support to the technicians.
• Remove a victim from the water from the shore.
• Prepare and deploy first aid and evacuation equipment.
C - Technician Level
Rescue a victim while on the ice or in the water:
• Move on the ice.
• Approach and retrieve the victim (while on the ice).
• Enter the water and remove the victim.
• Take charge of and evacuate the victim.
