Wilderness First Aid (20h)

This practical course is designed for individuals who work in remote areas or participate in outdoor activities in areas cut off from medical assistance. An introduction to remote first aid, this course focuses on learning practical skills, decision making and the specifics of the environment.

Content

Patient assessment, shock, wound care, burns, fractures and sprains, environmental injuries, common health conditions, first aid kits.

Included*: CPR-AED General Public, Level A (Adult and Child)

*The CPR-AED module is mandatory for SIRIUSMEDx certification. It is included in our courses.

Cadre du cours
  • The traditional Wilderness First Aid course is given over a two-day period, 8 hours per day, with a 4-hour evening session on the first day. It is also possible to build a course schedule according to the needs of the group.

  • The training includes theory from the classroom, as well as realistic hands-on activities and simulations to develop the required skills.

  • Nearly half of the class time is devoted to hands-on activities.
Prérequis
  • No previous first aid experience is required.

  • Participants must be in good physical condition.
Évaluation
Participants' knowledge and skills are assessed throughout the course through review sessions, tests and exams, and ongoing evaluation of skill acquisition. Participants' knowledge and skills are also assessed on the last day of the course through a multiple-choice exam, which is reviewed and graded in class.
Certification
The certificate is valid for  three years . SIRIUSMEDx issues a digital certificate recognizing your learning.

To requalify, you must follow, before your certification expires :
