February 13th, 2026

SAINTE-ADÈLE, February 13 th , 2026 – Following the announcements confirming the end of Airmédic’s helicopter operations in their current form, SIRIUSMEDx wishes to express its appreciation for its long-standing partner and its concerns regarding the impacts on workers and communities in remote regions.

For several years, SIRIUSMEDx and Airmédic worked closely together to ensure the rapid care of patients located outside the road network. This operational complementarity constituted an essential safety net for numerous organizations, particularly in the industrial, construction and mining sectors.

An air medical evacuation represents far more than transportation. It is part of a complete response chain including advanced clinical stabilization, emergency coordination and complex logistical planning. For many companies, this capability was directly integrated into their risk management strategies.

“For our clients, medical evacuation is not an accessory service — it is a condition of operability. The main challenge will be ensuring that no transition period leaves workers or communities without adequate coverage,” states Philippe-Olivier Belcourt, Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of SIRIUSMEDx

SIRIUSMEDx also wishes to acknowledge the professionalism of Airmédic’s teams, whose expertise contributed for many years to the safety of operations in remote regions across Québec. In this evolving medical evacuation landscape, the organization will collaborate with government authorities and other providers to maintain operational continuity and protect the populations served.

Let us not forget that in a critical situation, what ultimately determines the outcome… is time.
